How the Process Works
To begin with, we send one of our experienced locksmiths directly to your location. Once on-site, we carefully open the lock and remove it from the door. Next, the lock is dismantled so we can accurately decode the internal key pattern from the cylinder.
After that, we cut a brand-new key to match the original configuration. This is done using specialised professional key machines — not the basic duplication machines used for copying keys, but advanced equipment designed specifically for creating keys from scratch.
Importantly, our mobile locksmith vans are fully equipped with these high-end machines, allowing us to complete the entire process on-site. Finally, we reinstall the lock and test the new keys to ensure everything works smoothly.
Once completed, the newly cut keys are handed over to you, ready for immediate use.
What to Expect
While the process is precise and effective, it is not instant. Typically, it takes around 30 minutes per lock. However, it’s a reliable and proven solution when keys are lost, and access is needed.
After all, locks are designed with one simple rule — with the correct key, they open; without it, they don’t. Therefore, having a new key professionally made is often the most practical solution.
Alternative Option – Unlock First
In some situations, a more cost-effective option is to have our locksmith unlock the door first. This allows you to regain access and check for a spare key inside.
Many people keep spare keys indoors, often in a drawer or a hidden location. Although this isn’t always practical during a lockout, it can still be helpful once access is restored.
As a result, unlocking the door first can save time and money if a spare key is available.
