The deadbolt uses a key from both sides, to lock and unlock the deadbolt. The handle lock uses a turn switch on the inside to lock and unlock, and you can also use a key from the outside of the handle to lock and unlock. Brava make good quality locks at a reasonable price, this combination lock will last much longer then the cheap copies sold at most hardware. Just because some locks may look the same in the display pack, they are not the same quality internally in the lock. The internal quality is what makes Brava locks are stronger and longer lasting.
